HDFC Bank Sports Club organized a league Cricket tournament, which was held at the SLLDC Cricket ground Narahenpita recently. 13 teams from the head office and the branches took part in the tournament. The main objective was to showcase the sporting skills of the staff members of the Bank

Mr.E.D.P Soosaipillai, the Chairman of HDFC Bank was the Chief Guest at the event. CEO/GM Mr.Nishaman Karunapala, members of the Corporate and Senior Management, Regional Managers, Branch Managers and other staff with their family members also gathered to cheer for their teams and enjoyed the day.

The most popular Crickters Isuru Udana and Matheesha Pathirana graced the event as Guests of Honor.

North Warriors team emerged champions and walking away with the HDFC League Cricket Tournament 2023 Trophy and team Encryptors received the Runner Up award in the men’s category. Rainbow girls was the champions while White Angels team received the Runners up in the women’s category

Duminda Lakmal of the Encryptors team received the Best Bowler of the tournament while Duminda Sanjeewa of team Encryptors adjudged the Best batsman of the tournament. Arumugam Sujeewan won the titles of Player of the finals and Player of the Series from team North Warriors whilst E.G.O.P Hemawardana was the Best Fielder of team HDFC Warriors.

Ramya Malar, Jayani Madurangi and semini Hasarangi of team White Angels received the awards of Best Bowler, Best Batsman and best Fielder awards respectively. Player of the finals awarded to Punya Kumidini of Rainbow girls.

At the post-tournament presentation, the awards were given away by the HDFC CEO/GM Mr.Nishaman Karunapala, Cricketers Isuru Udana and Matheesha Pathirana
